Pre-formulation / Formulation Development

We have developed a collection of over a hundred excipient compounds.  These compounds either have GRAS status or are in FDA's Inactive Ingredients Database for topical use.  An excipient library will be generated based on chemical and structural properties of a drug candidate.  The solubility and stability of the drug candidate in the excipient library will be evaluated in a high-throughput experimentation format.

Based on the results from the solubility and stability studies, a library of candidate formulations will be prepared in one or more dosage forms (serums, creams, lotions, gels, ointments, lacquers, etc.) suitable for clinical indication as well as patient.

Formulation Optimization - High-Throughput Drug Release and Absorption Evaluation

The formulations in the library will be screened and evaluated using our high-throughput in vitro skin absorption and penetration module.

Based on the results from the drug release and absorption studies, lead candidate(s) will be identified and further optimized to achieve optimum release and absorption profile.
